Discover the beauty of Lippan Art, a traditional folk art form from western India. Known for its intricate patterns, earthy textures, and shimmering mirror work, Lippan art has long been used to decorate the walls of homes and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of western India.

In this hands-on workshop, led by Niloufer Rakhangi of The Water Lily Designs, you’ll learn the basics of this beautiful craft while creating your own unique Lippan-inspired artwork using clay, mirrors, and decorative embellishments. Guided step-by-step, participants of all skill levels are welcome—no prior artistic experience is necessary.

About The Water Lily Designs

The Water Lily Designs is the creative studio of artist Niloufer Rakhangi, whose work draws on the rich traditions of Indian folk art.

Originally from India and now based in Massachusetts, Niloufer creates handmade Madhubani paintings and contemporary Lippan-inspired wall art while sharing these artistic traditions through workshops for both children and adults. Her work celebrates the craftsmanship, symmetry, and cultural heritage of Indian folk art while making these centuries-old practices accessible to new audiences.
