The Bellforge Youth Advisory Council is where inspired creatives unite to share their perspectives and voices to align with Bellforge’s mission to nurture community, creativity and self-expression through the arts. We are looking for up to 6 members who are in grades 9 – 12 in the 2023-2024 school year.
The purpose of the Council is to:
- Advise Bellforge on issues that are important to, and affect youth in the region
- Serve as a communication link for youth in the planning of Bellforge
- Identify and advocate for the needs of youth in the region
- Identify and carry out events and activities for the community which are important to youth
The Council helps in planning and running activities for youth in the region. Members also volunteer at many Bellforge events (February – October) and help in planning, contributing ideas for improvements to programs and plans.
The Council meets in person at the Bellforge office or via zoom: Monthly on the first Monday of the month at 6pm during the school year.
Other opportunities
Members of the Council may be asked to sit on Bellforge Board committees and provide input for specific projects. Their role is to represent the youth perspective. These committees are not part of the Council meeting and participation is completely voluntary. Current projects include:
- Planning phase 1: Performing Arts and Education Venue
- Planning phase 2: Visual and Culinary Arts
- Planning for public art and / or collaborative programs in nature
How to join
You can submit an on-line application to join the Council if you:
- are in high school (members are welcome to stay on throughout high school and college) in Medfield and surrounding towns.
- can commit to attending the monthly meetings
- additional volunteer service opportunities are available and optional
