Bellforge Arts Center. 45 Hospital Road, Medfield, MA 02052

Bellforge Arts Center is located in Medfield, Massachusetts, on the historic grounds of the former Medfield State Hospital. In the heart of MetroWest, Bellforge is the region’s new home for arts, culture, and community, bringing live music, performances, and creative programming to audiences within easy reach of Boston, Providence, and Worcester.

Today, Bellforge’s programming takes place outdoors at the front of the campus, where open green space serves as a gathering point for concerts, festivals, and community events.

At the same time, Bellforge is raising funds and advancing plans to transform the site into a year-round arts center. The vision recasts the historic campus through the renovation of the Lee Chapel and Infirmary, connected by a new glass annex, creating spaces for performance, education, and community use. Over time, this will include a 300-seat performance venue, classrooms and studios, and expanded indoor and outdoor programming across the grounds.

Upon entering the campus from Hospital Road, turn onto Service Drive. Event activity will be immediately visible on your right.

Parking

Free, on-site parking is available throughout the campus and is designed to flex depending on event size.

As you turn onto Service Drive, parking is offered on both sides of the road. Many visitors choose to park in the first lot to the right (near the school bus fleet), just before the primary gathering area.

Additional parking is available along Service Drive. If the initial spots are full, continue as the road curves to the left, where overflow parking can be found.

Accessibility

Bellforge is committed to creating a welcoming and accessible environment for all visitors.

Accessible parking is available on-site and open to anyone who may need it; a handicap placard is not required to use these spaces. Specific spots will be clearly marked on arrival.

If you require assistance during your visit, team members are available to help. Your comfort and ability to move through the grounds matters to us.

What to expect at our events

Outdoor festivals, concerts, and community events take place on the front lawn throughout the spring through fall season. Visitors are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the grounds.

For full event details, including schedules, what to expect, and any event-specific information, please visit the individual event pages on our website.

Many events feature local food trucks, and guests are encouraged to support these vendors.

Select events also offer alcohol for purchase; valid photo identification is required for all alcohol purchases (21+). Outside alcohol is not permitted, and all beverages must remain within designated fenced areas.

While most events are free to attend, advance registration is recommended. Registering allows guests to receive important updates, including changes related to weather or event programming.

We envision a gathering place for people, full of possibilities — where community and creativity come together, and where inspiration and innovation meet.
